How do I set the jump height for a hop?

if (mc.gameSettings.keyBindJump.isKeyDown()){
mc.thePlayer.motionY = X;
}
if (mc.thePlayer.onGround) {
instead of mc.thePlayer.jump() -> mc.gameSettings.keyBindJump.pressed = true;
} else {
mc.gameSettings.keyBindJump.pressed = false;
}

mc.gameSettings.keyBindJump.pressed = true

no
mc.thePlayer.jump()
